Creating a distinctive and engaging brand
Ballihoo Cafe & Shop – Lower Mill Estate
Sector: Food & Drink
Lower Mill Estate initiated a rebrand of Ballihoo, their onsite restaurant and café, alongside the launch of a new 'plastic-free' shop. The goal was to create a brand identity that encapsulates the vibrant essence of Ballihoo while aligning with Lower Mill Estate's commitment to sustainability and harmony with nature.
Embracing the extravagant and flamboyant connotations of the name 'Ballihoo,' a dynamic brand was crafted featuring expressive, bold typography paired with playful illustrations of local wildlife native to Lower Mill Estate. This approach not only adds character but also fosters a connection to the surrounding environment.
To further emphasise the rustic charm, brown kraft paper was utilised across printed materials and packaging. This choice resonates with the barn-style architecture of the restaurant and the natural aesthetic of the market shop, reinforcing Lower Mill's core values of sustainability and living in harmony with nature.
The rebrand was designed for flexibility and creativity, extending to packaging concepts for future products in the new shop. The cohesive visual identity ensures that every touchpoint reflects Ballihoo's unique personality and Lower Mill Estate's dedication to environmental stewardship.
The outcome is a distinctive and engaging brand that invites guests to 'Play, Graze, Laze at Ballihoo,' offering an experience that is both memorable and aligned with the brand ethos and natural beauty of Lower Mill Estate.
